Commission Process
I ask the client to come prepared with a list of objects they are interested in seeing in the piece. Together we work out content, size, color scheme and overall vibe. After our initial brainstorming, I create a series of digital mockups where revisions can be negotiated. After the clients approval of a mockup and delivery of deposit no changes can occur.
Song lyrics, poetry, drawings and other writing can be added before the background paint so parts peek through. Backgrounds are painted intuitively. Color, pattern, and other requests are taken into consideration but details such as drips and washes cannot be foretold.
No pictures or updates are promised before the piece is done. Artist retains the right to market and sell prints of commissioned pieces unless specifically agreed on during initial discussion.
All commissioned pieces are done on premium gallery wrapped stretched canvas, varnished, and can be shipped at the clients expense, or picked up in person in Western Washington. Floating frames and underglow can be added for additional cost. Commissions are priced depending on size and content, $800-$2000. Deposits are 50% of price and due upon approval of a mockup.
